Robbie McKane is a London-based director and DP working primarily in documentaries, commercials and short-form drama.

MINI BIO

After training in fine art & film, Robbie worked as a creative director at a startup production company before gaining further experience as a director in factual television, documentary film and commercials.

In the documentary space, Robbie has made a series of short films for Sotheby’s and Cultureshock Media, including LUX, When Light Began to Breathe screened on IkonoTV. He also directed the short documentary The House of Ron Hitchins, which explores the residence of the Hackney-based artist and dancer, commissioned and screened by the Ron Hitchins estate. His latest project is a feature documentary Stronger than the Wave, focusing on the people of the Tōhoku region in Japan is set for release in late 2025.

In the commercial space, Robbie specialises in documentary/real people with a secondary specialism in luxury/arts/fashion. He is typically a self-shooter but has also worked with a range of DPs on larger projects. His studio – Art Native produces work for top production companies and agencies around the world.
